Due to a super busy schedule for me between now and Father’s Day, I’m releasing the Summer print issue today. It is available for purchase here at a cost of only $5.70. I have a copy and it is nice to hold but also wonderful to read. Thank you dear contributors and loyal readers for everything!
June 1, 2012…
Marks both the release of our Summer 2012 print issue and the start of our next reading period. What will you submit? Keep in mind we’ve now opened up to flash fiction (with limited acceptance).
Summer Print Issue
Summer print issue contributors are now up on our Upcoming Contributor page. The Summer issue is in process of being proofed. It contains 33 poems from 32 outstanding poets. The issue will be available via Lulu on June 1st. Mark it on your calendars!
Issue Two, Now Live!
So, while test driving the links for Issue Two, I accidentally posted them live. Since it’s already been viewed twice, I’m just going to leave it that way. For your reading pleasure, I’m proud to present Issue Two: Emerge Literary Journal, Issue Two – April 2012
Thank you to all of my fabulous contributors!
We’re So Excited!
Our second issue arrives on April 15th. Last day to submit for the April issue (and potentially the June print issue) is April 1st. As of this evening, we have nearly 40 fabulous poems written by 34 poets slated for our April issue alone. A whole lot more slated for June’s print issue. We’re so excited!
Wow!
We are really picking up some fabulous work! Issues Two and Three (our print issue) are shaping up to be works of art. Thank you to all of our past and upcoming contributors for helping to establish Emerge! If you haven’t already submitted, what are you waiting for? Head on over to our Submission Guidelines page and send your stuff in or refer a friend!
Some Changes…
We no longer have a restriction regarding publication credits. You can have as many or as few as you like. We just want to be part of your literary emergence. So, please do submit…
About Emerge…
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
We are a new journal of online and print poetry dedicated to emerging poets and their words. We aim to publish poets who are currently emerging on the literary scene and seek those with less than five publishing credits. We recognize how hard it can be to get that first publishing credit and hope to be a foundation for the poets seeking to be published here.
We love prefer free verse–words with passion, voice, and place. We look for images that linger, that we can take with us to bed at night, ideas used in magnificent ways. Bring us your castles.
Official Launch!
Ok, so it’s not February 1st, but we couldn’t resist launching Emerge now that all the work is done. We are so excited about the outcome that we couldn’t help but want to share it with everyone right away! So go ahead, take a peek! You know you want to…. Emerge Literary Journal, Issue One – February 2012
We’d also like to take the time to thank our contributors for their time and work. Without you, we wouldn’t have a first issue, so thank you so very much! And, please don’t worry if a particular poem didn’t make it’s way to the February issue…that just means it will be included in our print edition in June!
Submission Guidelines Update…
We have begun using Submishmash for our submissions and are now accepting 3-5 poems per submission.
