by Claire Scott
Things have not been going exactly as expected
two buttons missing on my wrinkled shirt
cat pee on my doesn’t-fit-in-the-washer comforter
no gas in the car, hours late for work
and my boss gives me a look that shrivels my future
Where are all the scimitars, bottles of bleach, vials of Vicodin
who put that impossible barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge
why is there no rope in the basement now that YouTube
has a video describing in how to tie a noose
(see Knot of the Week)
Why not a Force Quit option like on my Mac
when an application is not behaving properly
a spinning circle, a frozen screen, a not so silent scream
hit Eve’s apple in the upper left corner
(the small bite that reshaped the world)
Select Force Quit
pick the program that has let you down
three simple keystrokes and you’re done
exactly as expected
