Editor’s Note

Happy New Year! While last year wasn’t the greatest, let us remember all the bright spots. We relaunched after a long hiatus and revived the Magpies Chapbook series, discovered amazing new talent as well as embraced the Twitter literary world. We plan on continuing that tradition this year. In this issue I interview an author with her first literary publication and showcase her work for the world to see.

ELJ believes that #mentalillnessawareness and #endingthestigma are of paramount importance. We believe in the necessity of sharing our mental illness and trauma stories to facilitate writing through illness and create broader awareness. We’ve created this corner to allow writers to not only share their stories but to be home to those who share in their experiences.
