i tug on the rope between us
as a sign that i will follow her
anywhere;
she tells me how swallows dance
in binary
pulling at each other
equally and lovingly;
deep down
i guess i know how the shore and sea
churn into each other
tandem;
in time
the calluses on my hand will heal
becoming feathers.
