THERE IS A BEEHIVE IN CANCER

by Katelyn Botsford Tucker

He marveled once at
how quiet I could make

my footsteps.
Today I thunder

everywhere.
Sheer coincidence that

the Crab is visible in March.
When his bees

died, I heard
a thick sadness in the airwaves.

The rattle in his breath
a warning buzz.
